This place sits on the corner of Canal and Roosevelt Streets. Open 24/7. I usually eat here between 3:30 – 4:00 and it’s pretty quiet with the exception of Saturday night. However, during the day, it’s run and gun and late night, this place can get a little sketchy. There have been a few shootings in the place. I’ve never seen Chicago’s “gangsta” crowd here. Place has been open since 1939 and I guess it’s historical in some way. Chicago’s pitiful when it comes to 24/7 restaurants. I guess this would be one of the best. Why? Because it’s open.
